Williams PTO Annual Campaign
It is reassuring to know Newton Public Schools is among the best public school districts in the country. We can count on a well-rounded and meaningful education that nurtures our children’s curiosity and love of learning.
We know that for all families, contributing to your children’s education and school is highly valued, though for many, not always easy. It might be difficult to believe since we are a public school, but PTO/parent funding is still a major component to running a school system here in Newton. We are hoping that you find a way to join us in our Annual Campaign to raise the funds we need for all the wonderful programs the Williams Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) does. This includes curriculum-based programs in creative arts and science, library and literacy, staff mini-grants, and technology as well as non-curriculum based programs such as facilities improvement, community building programs and 5th grade activities.
The projected expenses for all of these items come to well over $125 per child (more than $30,000 per year)!
In addition to the Annual Campaign, the PTO organizes school-wide events, applies for grants, requests in-kind donations from local businesses, and gathers funds through ongoing fundraisers like Amazon Smiles and Williams Wear Sales. While some events are fundraisers, a number of these events exist solely to nurture the sense of community and belonging among students, teachers, and Williams’ families. We cannot accomplish all that without your talent (skills/volunteerism) and your financial support.
Our PTO fundraising goal for this school year is to reach 100% parent participation. You can make a tax deductible gift to the Williams PTO today. Every gift, no matter how small, enriches your child’s school experience. Your participation will have a direct impact on your child’s future.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE GIFT

- Transfer Stock/Other Securities – contact the PTO Treasurer (treasurer@williamspto.org) for details.

Events PTO funds and supports:
- All-School concerts by renowned artists, author visits, arts and sciences programs for each grade level. Programs included Crocodile River Music, Honeybees, Discovery Museum Bubbles, Potato Hill Poetry, Techsploration, and the Museum of Science, to name a few.
- Instructional Grants and Teacher Funding resulting in math and literacy center materials, art program tools, art supplies, novels, Calming and Self Regulation Centers, and much more.
- Outdoor improvements including the new playground seating area. Additional outdoor improvements, including the Gaga pit, swing, shade umbrellas, and blacktop resealing were paid for with the PTO budget surplus.
