1)  Remember to send in all of your donations for the Winter Gear Sale by Friday morning!  Bring boots, skates, coats, sleds, snow pants, skis, hockey gear, etc. and leave them outside your classroom door.  Questions? Paula Fazli (pfazli@comcast.net; 617-964-0406)

2)  If your 5th grader is interested in volunteering to help with the haunted house, please contact Christine Lacey (christinelacey@gmail.com).

3) Come to the Williams School on Friday at 6:00 p.m. ready to have a fabulous time! There will be a Bouncy House, balloon animals, a juggling clinic, scooter races, bowling games, face painting, a haunted house, a photographer and prizes galore!  Come hungry and enjoy hot dogs, caramel apples, and popcorn.  Costumes are welcome, but optional.

4)  Make sure that you check out the amazing Winter items for sale for $5.00 each!  There are a lot of gently used skates and boots and plenty of other gear to get you ready for the first big snow!

(Walking School Bus Schedules)
Thanks to all the kids, families, and staff members who walked in the rain last Wednesday to celebrate International Walk to School Day!  For those of you who want a sunny redo, or for those who didn’t get a chance to walk, you have more opportunities to participate. We will continue the Walking Wednesdays each week until Thanksgiving, and then start up again in the spring.

This Wednesday, October 14th, all walkers, bicyclists, and bus heroes will get a Safe Routes to School glow-in-the-dark zipper pull. Starting the following week, collect a different rubber bracelet each week after arriving at school.
Keep an eye out for information about each week’s theme!

Halloween Festival, Friday October 30th, 6:00 p.m. — 8:00 p.m.
Williams Gymnasium

Don’t miss this exciting evening, filled with games, prizes, food, sweets and treats; a Haunted House, balloon animals, face painting and more.

Parents: WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to make the event a success!  If you are available to work a shift:  set-up (5:00 p.m. — 6:00 p.m.); during the festival, from 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. or from 7:00 p.m. — 8:00 p.m.; clean-up (8:00 p.m. — 8:30 p.m.), please contact Lauren Brooks (lbfbrooks@verizon.net) or Christine Lacey (Christinelacey@gmail.com).

The United Parish of Auburndale is hosting its third annual Pumpkin Patch, from October 4th through October 31st.  Pumpkins large and small, gourds and baked goods will be for sale.  The proceeds help the UPA support a number of programs in the New England area.  Don’t miss this fun family outing!  Pumpkin Patch hours are: M-F, 10am-6pm; Sat, 9am-5pm; and Sun, 11am-6pm.

The UPA is located at the corner of Woodland Road and Grove Street near Williams Elementary in Auburndale.   For more information, please contact the UPA at 617-964-8516.
