Readathon

Welcome to the Williams PTO Read-A-Thon. Books can take you on a journey to foreign lands, take you back in time and open your eyes to the world.

Get involved in the Read-A-Thon by reading great books.

Here’s how it works.

1 . SET A GOAL

Just like when you travel to a new place, you have a destination in mind. Establish a goal for yourself this summer. Setting a goal will help you succeed. You might decide to challenge yourself to read a specific number of chapter books. Or, perhaps you might want to read more books from a variety of genres. On the attached piece of paper, cut out your airplane and write your name and your goal on the wing. You may color it or decorate it any way you wish. Bring your plane into school and drop it off in the PTO in-box before Friday, June 11th, and you could win a prize!

2. RECORD YOUR READING

Reading a book is a lot like travel. It can take you on a journey to discover the world around you. Did you know i f you traveled around the world you would log 24, 902.13 miles? As you read, imagine that every page read, equals one mile toward our journey of reading around the world. Get involved in this school wide challenge by recording the number of books and pages you read this summer. In September, we’ll share our successes and discover just how far we traveled around the globe.
