News Update

Welcome back!  We hope everyone had a wonderful vacation week.

Many thanks to the Williams families who made the school grounds look so beautiful at NewtonSERVES on Sunday!  We all appreciate your hard work!
The playground still needs to be stained/sealed — if there are a few adults who are available to help at a time to be determined, please contact Donna Whitham ([email protected]).

THIS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28:

Please join Dr. Connolly, Maryellen O’Donnell, and members of the PTO for a Principal’s Coffee especially for parents from Williams’ International Community on Wednesday morning, April 28, at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.
While our targeted audience for this coffee is families whose children receive English Language Learner services from our school, our goal is to help more families feel connected to Williams, and ALL Williams parents are welcome!
There will be another Principal’s Coffee with Dr. Connolly at the beginning of June to give the entire community the opportunity to come and ask questions about the year just ending as well as the year ahead.

ALSO ON WEDNESDAY:
Join The Newton Schools Foundation and NPS Director of Information Technology, Shelley Chamberlain, for an interactive 21st Century Classroom demonstration by eighth grade science teacher Michelle Fox on Wednesday, April 28, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Brown Middle School, in Room 212.  Shelley Chamberlain will be available to answer questions about the interactive tools and her vision for the future.

BY FRIDAY, APRIL 30:

Remember to submit your paragraph explaining why you would like to be a parent representative on the Williams School Council!
Dear Williams Community.  This is an invitation to join the Williams School Council.  The School Council is an advisory board exploring various school issues and concerns including Williams School’s strategic plan.  I am looking for three parent volunteers to help develop the vision for Williams over a two-year term.  The group meets every six weeks for an hour and a half as needed, at a time to be determined by the members.  Please submit a one paragraph biography including a brief explanation of why you would like to be part of the School Council to [email protected] by Friday, April 30.  We will share the application paragraphs with the Williams community and have a community-wide vote to elect the three representatives.  Thanks for your continued support.  Best, Dr. Midge Connolly

Don’t forget to respond to the survey about the kindergarten experience in Newton by May 3!
