Update

Williams Parents,

We hope to see everyone at Winter Wonder Night next Thursday — it will be a great chance to catch up with people you haven’t seen since the harvest festival and see what your kids have been working on at school.

“Winter Wonder Night at Williams,” Thursday, January 28, 6:30-7:45 p.m.
Dr. Connolly and the Williams teachers and staff invite parents to come with their children to play games and enjoy curriculum-based activities in classrooms, the library and the gym.  Get a chance to try out the proscopes your kids have been raving about!

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Coffee Break, Friday, January 29, 7:30 a.m.

Volunteers and donations are still needed!
COFFEE and other drinks, FOOD such as quiches, bagels with cream cheese, donuts, muffins and fruit, PAPER GOODS and FLOWERS are all welcome!

Drop off your donations in the cafeteria when you come to “Winter Wonder Night” on Thursday evening or bring them to school Friday morning.
To volunteer and/or let us know what you are bringing, please contact one of us, or sign up online.

Parenting Program: Dr. Ross Greene, Thursday, February 4, 7:00 p.m.
“Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS)- An Effective Approach to Understanding and Supporting Your Child” presented by Dr. Ross Greene on Thursday, February 4 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Williams Auditorium.

Dr. Greene is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and author of the acclaimed books The Explosive Child and Lost at School. He will provide an in-depth review of his model for supporting children who demonstrate challenging behaviors, specifically focusing on working with children and families, how parents can implement CPS at home, and how it has been implemented in the Newton Public Schools over the past three  years.

This free program for parents is co-sponsored by the Elementary Counseling Grant and The Newton Partnership.  Call Nancy Holczer, 617-559-9063, with questions.  No registration required.
