Newton Community Ed classes at Williams. Registration is underway for fall classes with Newton Community Education. We still have openings in the following classes at Williams: Chess on Mondays, Drama on Tuesdays, Pottery on Wednesdays, and Knitting and Mad Science on Thursdays. Check out our family programs this fall (they include two kayak trips, the returning favorite Chocolate Connection, Stargazing, and more), and our classes for older elementary schoolers, like Fencing at Bigelow; Robotics, Bio Lab, or Sewing at South; Archery at Day; Babysitting; and lots more. For younger kids as well as for soccer moms we have Saturday soccer, and for middle school siblings we have lots going on after school too. In addition we have a wide variety of classes at schools throughout Newton, and we welcome kids from all schools at all of our classes. Boys & Girls Club Now Accepting School Year Registrations: The John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club is accepting registrations for the 20092010 School Year. Membership to the Club is just $125 per family and includes all children ages 6-18. Daily afterschool programming in the areas of Sports, Education, Recreation, and Art are all included for this one low fee in addition to Teen Programs and Intramural Basketball. Financial Aid is available for those in need. Kids Corp is available for parents of children in grades 1-5 who desire additional supervision and support. Newton Girl Scouts announces drop-in registration for new members on Thursday, September 24 between 2 and 8 pm at the Newton Free Library, 330 Homer Street, Newton Centre. Girl Scouting is open to girls in grades K-12 and adult volunteers. Parent or guardian signature required for registration. All That Jazz Dance Studio is still accepting registration for this school year. We offer classes in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Funky Jazz, Musical Theater Dance, and Modern for ages 2-adult. New this year: Ballroom Dance Class on Sundays from 5-6 (6th grade and up), Boys and Girls Hip Hop/BreakDance on Sundays from 4-5 (1st-3rd grade), as well as Sunday 6 week long workshops in everything!
