Newton Schools Foundation “Honor Thy Teacher 2009″ because Great Teachers are Truly Priceless!
This year marks the 12th Annual “Honor Thy Teacher” Celebration. Ask your child/ren who they honor and
send that teacher/staff member/administrator’s name to the Newton Schools Foundation (NSF) by
September 1st. Your honorees will receive a card of thanks in your name and will be celebrated in the
annual ‘Honor Thy Teacher’ spread in the Newton TAB this coming fall. NSF is a private, non-profit
organization dedicated to supporting innovation and creativity in the Newton Public Schools. The
immediate focus is on providing all 21 schools with the technology, skills and tools required for 21st

as he completes his 11th year in Newton and heads off to Cambridge. This event is on Wednesday, June
17th, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Education Center Room 210, 100 Walnut Street, Newtonville, MA.
Would You like to help a Newton Elementary School Student Master Basic Math Concepts? We need
adult volunteers to tutor students in grades 2-5. Tutoring is once a week for 30-45 minutes. No teaching
experience ne eded. Tutors can select a preferred school, grade level, and day/time. Play special math
games that reinforce skills and help students gain confidence. Training, Everyday Math books and
