Upcoming Events at Williams School

We hope everyone is having a terrific summer and looking forward to the start of school.   While there is still time before school starts, we wanted to get these event dates out to you for planning purposes.

Very briefly, a few notes of interest:

  • August 28 Class lists are mailed citywide and should arrive in mail boxes shortly thereafter.
  • Classroom Visiting, Thursday, Sept 3, from 10 – 11 a.m. Because the teachers are busy getting their classrooms ready for Day 1, please limit your visit to this time.
  • Meet the Principal Coffees with Dr. Connolly: Monday, Sept. 14 and Friday, Sept. 18, 8:45 - 9:30 a.m. in the Williams Cafeteria Come welcome our new principal, chat with friends, and meet new Williams parents.  Join in on Monday, or Friday, whichever works best for your schedule.
  • The “Welcome Back Picnic” will be on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 4 – 6 p.m. on the Williams Field.  This is a BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic) event and the PTO will provide lemonade and watermelon.  So gather up a picnic dinner, a blanket, and a ball or two and come join us in relaxed fun.  Sunshine only.  In the event of rain, we’ll reschedule.
  • School Picture Day, Sept. 21.
  • Back to School Night, Tuesday, Sept. 22. All Williams parents should plan to attend Back to School Night (no kids please–it isn’t too early to look for a babysitter).  This is our opportunity to meet the entire teaching staff and to hear about the school curriculum directly from teachers.

The Williams PTO website has been improved to include a terrific calendar of events that is always current.  Click on  the events tab to see the calendar.  Use this resource if you can’t remember a date or start time.

Over the summer, we have set up two ways you can raise money for Williams while doing your regular shopping.  Learn how to support Williams while shopping at Shaw’s and at Amazon.

We look forward to seeing everyone in September.  It promises to be an exciting fall for Williams School!
